Don't forget that on Sunday November 29th our store hours are a bit longer to help you get a jump on your Holiday crafting and decorating. Usually the stores are open 11am -6pm on Sundays but this one Sunday of the year we are open 9am-9pm! Come in and see us!

Every year for the last 28 years Akron Children's Hospital holds a wonderful fundraiser... The Akron Tree Festival.
Area companies donate product or money and area designers design trees, wreaths or other Christmas related items and then the good citizens of Akron and the surrounding area bid on and buy the items that are made. All of the proceeds benefit Akron Children's Hospital.
I went to the festival on Thanksgiving Day as part of our own family's annual tradition and was delighted to see that a number of Pat Catan's stores had trees or wreaths on display.
If you haven't gotten to attend the festival yet there is still time today and tomorrow (Saturday and Sunday). It's a wonderful chance to see area designers' work, get ideas for your own decorating and donate a few dollars to help Akron Children's Hospital continue to do the great work they do.

Well here we are...31 days until Christmas.
One of the things that can be difficult for me when I'm making crafts for a far off date is to stay focused. I can lose whole weeks of production time simply by thinking, "I have plenty of time" and then before you know it the special day is here and I'm not quite prepared. A tool that I use that helps are counters. There is a good one at timeanddate.com. You just fill in the information, save it to your favorites and then you can check back any time you wish to see how much time you have left until the special day. Planning a wedding? Use a counter to count down the days. Making favors for an upcoming baby shower? Use the counter. It will help keep you focused, make planning easier and hopefully, elimate some last minute panic.

I just wanted to stop in today and let you all know about some of the fun things Pat Catan's carries for your childrens' school, church or scout holiday parties.
There are several kinds of Foamies kits...
and wooden crafts for the children to make. We have all sorts of group kits available that don't have a holiday theme as well. PLUS each of our stores has a Craft Coordinator (Craft Expert) who might be able to give you some craft ideas for a fun childrens' party.
Let, me just say... that if you'd like to make a craft for a future party you may want to come in soon to make your purchase. Usually, by the time it's actually time for the parties we've sold out of most of our kits. So hurry in soon!
