Customer Appreciation Day @ Parma Pat Catan's

Just announced there will be a customer appreciation day at the Parma Pat Catan's location this weekend Saturday October 24th through Sunday October 25th from noon till 5pm. Sales, demos, refreshments, games and more! Be sure to check it out if you're in the area!

2009 Camo Scarves for the Troops

Pat Catan's & the U.S.O. want your help to create scarves for our soldiers! The program will begin September 15th through October 15th 2009.

Pat Catan's will be getting in custom Camoflauge yarn in with the U.S.O logo on the packaging. One skein of yarn will create a scarf. We provide the yarn, you sign it out and create the scarves and return them to the store you signed out yarn from. We also have $1 and 2$ donation slips at our registers if you wish to contribute money to help with shipping costs.

You may knit or crochet this scarf. There is no set pattern, just a recommended pattern and size below.

We aim to get the scarves returned by October 15th 2009!

CAMO SCARF DIRECTIONS

MEASUREMENTS
Approx 7 ins [18 cm] wide x 58 ins [147.5 cm] long
MATERIALS
1 ball Bernat Camouflage (142g / 5 oz)
Size 5mm (U.S. 8) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE
18 sts and 24 rows=4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st

INSTRUCTIONS
cast on 30 sts.
1st row: (RS) *K2. P2. Rep from * to last 2 sts. K2.
2nd row: *PS. KS. Rep from * to last 2 sts. K2.
3rd row: Knit.
4th row: Purl.
These 4 rows form pattern.

Continue in pattern until scarf measures 58 ins [147.5 cm], ending with a 2nd row. Cast off knitwise.

Participants can arrive as early as 9am

Judging at 2pm

We provide sidewalk chalk or you may use your own
