Faux Mercury Glass
Mercury glass has become quite popular once again. Once dubbed the "poor mans silver" it now holds a unique charm all of its own. I've read several tutorials on how to re-create this look and noticed most include an item we no longer sell. So I took elements of other instructions and tried it out... this is what I got. Composite flowers are easy to make and on the bottom of cube vases they become a great, low centerpiece that you guests can see one another over.

Branch Centerpiece Idea

Here is a wedding centerpiece idea based off of branches which seem to be pretty popular lately. (At least in magazines and on wedding tv shows!) It's pretty simple to make it and I estimate it costing roughly $28 before tax to make one. I can see this looking awesome at a winter wedding and even working at a spring wedding done with more of an earthy color palate. Here's how I made it:

So, my wedding date is going to be in May of 2010... I know, I know it seems like ages away but to a bride to be it's never too soon to plan, Especially when you work at a craft store! So I've never been a very traditional girl, I may even be described as a little weird or goofy at times... but I like things that are a little bit different then the norm. When I was deciding what flowers I want to use for my bouquet one came to mind: Star Protea.
