Acrylic paints:
Soft white, pink, blue, tan, purple, burgundy, brown, flesh tone and green
Your choice of ribbons and trims, scissors, paint brushes, hot glue
- Paint all 8 wood balls, wood boy and 16 head plugs flesh tone. Let dry.
- Paint flower pots as follows or as you desire:
- Mother Mary –pink
- Joseph-blue
- Angel-soft white
- shepherd-tan
- King-purple
- Wise men –burgundy, green and brown
- Set pots aside to dry completely.
- Glue heads and hands to flower pots.
- Paint faces and hair on heads-(use different colors of eyes and hair)
- Embellish robes with ribbon; place some over their heads, some over shoulders and some just over arms.
- Wrap a thin rope type trim around shepherd’s waist and a gold trim down front of king.
- Wrap a white ribbon around entire body of baby Jesus. *you can also use paint to embellish clothing.
- Fashion 2 staffs from the brown chenille stems- a short on for the shepherd and a longer one for Joseph. Glue to their hand.
- Make a crown and 3 halos from the gold tinsel stems. Glue crown to king’s head, halos to Mary, Jesus and the angel.
- Remove metal springs from 5 miniature clothespins and separate pieces.
- Glue 9 of the pieces together to form a manger -wide end down and narrow end up-alternate from one side to the other. *Refer to photo.
